Chepelare is a town with a strong winter sport traditions. A long tradition for ski sport has created a legacy of competitors on a national and international level. There are three existing ski runs with a lift line which covers the distance of 2471 meters from the town to the peak in 17 minutes. There is a new development plan for the Chepelare ski resort with new ski runs and expansion of the existing lift facilities. In the near future a lift line will merge directly the Chepelare and Pamporovo ski centres into one large integrated ski resort.
