Ribaritza has a population of 1400 people and is one of the most picturesque among the 13 towns and villages in Teteven municipality. It is situated on altitude of 600 m in the foot of Teteven Balkan, 12 km away from the town of Teteven. The village is 12 km long and is situated by Beli Vit river and its trybutaries. The name of the village is no coincidence and the bronze statute of the Fisherboy - the symbol of the resort can be seen on one of the rocks in the beginning of the village.
The charm of Ribaritza is in the numerous spread out small villas and houses, drowned among trees and flowers, which offer not only quietness and calmness but also the possibility to feel the unique village atmosphere and the cosiness of home. Here, in the village of Ribaritza the traditions still live: the old water-mills continue to grind, the cauldrons - to boil the famous plum rakia from Ribaritza, valiavitzite - to make the colourful rugs, the skilful housewives to cook the delicious jam of forest trees, the masters cattle-breeders to produce the famous Balkan brine cheese, the swift-handed masters to create beauty out of wool and wood.
The biggest attraction of the village of Ribaritza is the wild nature of "Central Balkan" National park and one of its nine green pearls - Tzarichina biospheric reserve. The name of the reserve comes from the incredible legend of the pricess Tamara who was healed with the help of the majic of the red barefoot, which the people from Ribaritza still call "tzarichina".
There are various mountain routes which start from the village and go to both of the reserves next to Tzarichina - Botanin on South-west and Kozya stena on South-east.
From the village you can easily reach "Georgi Benkovski", "Eho" and "Vejen" huts.
The real paradise for the ornithologists is "Cherniat rat" area where they can see a lot of different kinds of birds.
An incredible pleasure is riding in the village with mountain bikes with which you can reach the Roman bridge on Kostina river, to feel the romantic side of the old neighbourhoods of Briazovo and Goruniovo, to go to Iakovata cave and the rocky bridge over the village. You can enjoy a romatic retro ride by a cabriolet, photo-safari with a piknik in the forest, a walk in the village with a qualified mountain guide, a fishing combined with a fish-picnic.
